NYU

Hey, everyone. This message is for those of us attending the NYU tournament this Friday and Saturday.

We will be taking the train to New York; as such, everyone must be at the train station by 1:45 at the latest so that we can distribute tickets. It is important that you arrive on time because we have a couple of transfers to catch en route to the city. Please inform your instructors in advance if you need to miss a class to accommodate being there by 1:45. We will meet in the upstairs lobby at the New Brunswick station.

Reminder to all: Be sure to pack for a brief overnight stay, with a change of clothes, toothbrush, etc. Since the region is finally experiencing cold weather, you may want to bring a sleeping bag, but be sure to travel light as we will be walking through train stations and New York City.

For those who haven't been to NYU in the past, it is a generally well-run tournament run by one of Rutgers's favorite teams on APDA. Be prepared for the classiest banquet you will likely ever see (at a debate tournament, anyway).

I hope everyone is looking forward to the experience! For those of you not going to NYU, remember that practices have resumed in force on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 9:15 in HH-B2.

Best,

Sam

Reminder: first meeting Tuesday night

For those of you that are on this list but didn't really participate
last semester, this is a good chance to rejoin us, since we'll probably
be restarting the novice program for the spring semester like we did
last year.

Plus, the NYU tournament is really nice. When Dan says their banquet is
"great", what he really means is that it's in one of the nicest
buildings on campus, with a great view of the city, and with waiters (!)
and tablecloths and everything.

Welcome Back

Welcome back to another semester of Rutgers Debate.

Our first meeting will be this coming Tuesday, the 23rd, at the usual time and place Hardenbergh B2 at 9:30. Show up on time.
The next tournament we are going to is NYU on the first weekend of February. It is both close and top-notch - their banquet on Saturday is always great.

Since this is not for another two weeks, do not worry about sending attendance information yet. Keep in mind that practice attendance is necessary in order to go to tournaments.
Thursday practices will also resume this week.

Dan
