Reminder: Sept 19 first meeting for new members

Hi all,

This is just a reminder that our first meeting for new members is
September 19, 2006 in Hardenbergh B2
(http://maps.rutgers.edu/building.aspx?id=151, and down in the B
basement) at 9:30PM. We will be explaining the details of our club and
the circuit we compete on, then debating a demonstration round. No
experience is expected or required.

If you can't make it, it's okay too; you can come to the next meeting,
which is the following Tuesday. We have meetings every Tuesday at the
same time and place, and we welcome new members at any time throughout
the year.

We will be spending the night so make sure to bring whatever you normally would take to tournaments.

The teams are as follows:

Rutgers AI - Dan Ahn & Prashant Iyer
Drivers: Dan C. & Jon

See you guys on Friday.

Thanks,

Welcome back, Involvement Fair, Columbia Novice

Hey everyone, the fall semester is here and so are Debate e-mails!
We're looking forward to building on a successful season this past
year, with success at tournaments, increased membership interest, and
of course all kinds of fun times. Our first meeting will be on Sept.
12th in our classic HH-B2 room, but even before that there are a
couple of things to consider:

First, the Involvement Fair, which takes place this Monday from
12:30-4:30 PM in Voorhees Mall. Whoever is able to take some or all of
that time to sit at a table, be the face of the team, talk to
interested students, and have them fill out contact info sheets, let
me know...last year it was actually a really fun experience to see so
many people take interest and sign up, and it's a nice atmosphere to
catch up with your fellow RUDU members whom you haven't seen in a
while. If you can help, send me an e-mail (szeidman@eden, DO NOT reply
to the blogspot listserv address, unless you'd like to annoy everyone,
which wouldn't be too cool of you).

Also, Sept. 8th and 9th Columbia is hosting a novice tournament, and
even sent us an ostensibly personalized e-mail about it! If you are a
novice (if you're not sure whether you're a novice, just ask) and
would be interested in attending, or a varsity member interested in
judging, let me know...it is not a guarantee that we will be
attending, but it would be nice to guage interest.

As always, if anyone has any questions about the debate team this year
feel free to ask any of the board/experienced team members. Looking
forward to seeing everyone in person again on the 12th.

Sam
